Jóh Ricci
Workshop: Tapestry Weaving on a Simple Frame Loom
Dates: May 11-179, 2026

About Jóh
Jóh Ricci is an artist and instructor living in Gettysburg PA. Her fiber art awareness took root at an early age when her Great Aunt taught her how to crochet; it was then she began creating fabric with the simplest of tools: yarn, a crochet hook and her hands. Her passion grew after taking a weaving course as an elective in college and eventually earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Kutztown University. Like a fish to water, she was encouraged by her Professor and was literally 'hooked.' From there, her passion for fiber art grew and is where she feels most comfortable.
A recipient of numerous awards, Jóh's work in included in a variety of magazine publications and fiber art books, as well as several private art collections, including The Kamm Teapot Foundation. She has exhibited her work at some of the most prestigious juried shows including The Smithsonian Craft Show, The Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show, as well as invitational exhibitions and juried gallery shows across the US and abroad.
Self-taught in a broad range of fiber art techniques and working with a variety of materials, Jóh constantly explores new forms of creative expression: 'I love the simplicity of tools that I use to approach my goals of bringing creative life to an idea and to challenge myself with the concept of what could be. It is exciting to try something new regardless of the outcome, and to express my individuality and to experience the journey of self-discovery.
