Emily Dvorin
Workshop: A “Transordinary” Approach to Sculptural Basketry
Dates: October 26 - November 1, 2026

About Emily
Emily Dvorin is an award-winning, self-taught, experienced sculptural basket maker.
She grew up in New Jersey, went to college and graduate school to earn degrees in Foreign Languages and Teaching. She got married, had children and moved to California. Going from teaching third grade to owning a retail store selling fine craft in the San Francisco Bay Area, she stumbled upon her artistic passion later in life.
After countless hours spent creating “transordinary” vessels out of just about everything, Emily developed her own unique interpretation of the traditional craft of basket making. Her work is exhibited widely across the country and she continues to teach, consult and travel for speaking engagements.
